Dear AIREO member, It is with deep regret, that we are closing AIREO permanently. Be assured this decision did not come without due consideration. The AIREO Board of Directors has voted unanimously on this decision.
AIREO attendance and membership has been drastically declining over the past two years. AIREO now has a negative checking balance, and there is just not enough money to keep the doors open. Knowing that AIREO is destined to close sooner or later, the Board is not comfortable taking any more Annual Memberships or Corporate Sponsor Memberships. AIREO’s only actual cash income from $20 door entry fees in the past 3-months average $220 a meeting. We cannot get a room anywhere in town for $220 a meeting! Even if we were to meet at a church or school, it costs more than that just to set up chairs and clean the bathrooms.
Obviously, expenses include so much more than just meeting rooms. Quite frankly, our expenses, commitments and room size have grown past our ability to generate fees to cover these expenses.
The AIREO Board has worked very hard this past two years - almost to the point of overwhelm. Most Board members have served many more hours and performed numerous additional tasks to keep AIREO alive. Shaun McQuistion has graciously served 2 terms past his agreed upon term. Numerous Board members are still there because they have an allegiance to AIREO.
Shaun and the Board of Directors have served AIREO in an extraordinary way!
